I will continue to harp about the amazing results that so many appraisers are getting from on-line articles. There are many sites that offer these types of services, but my favorite is www.ezinearticles.com
The concept works around the idea of connecting writers and publishers. Writers upload articles to the site and e-zine newsletter publishers use them in their newsletters, websites, and hardcopy publications.
What!? You say you are NOT a writer – That’s Bull-o-knee. If you are an appraiser, you are writer. You must be a writer in order to comply with USPAP and your professional report writing standards. So put that ridiculous thought out of your head forever.
Here’s how it works. You sign up as a guest writer on e-zine article. You load your bio and profile in a special section. Old advertising guys call this writers profile a “Johnson box” (not sure why – don’t ask – don’t tell). The bio info in your Johnson box gets attached to every article you publish.
The publishers get to reprint your article in their newsletters, blogs, websites and catalogs for free as long as they include the info in your bio.
That’s how business-thinking appraisers drive traffic to their own website. Your bio contains web links, phone numbers, and e-mail info.
My best performing article is about identifying the value of autographs. As of this news entry, it has received more than 29,000 views. Total views for all of my published e-zine articles exceed 42,000.
Some articles do better than others as you can see. Get in on it and start writing.
